Visit to Store - Regarding Website

On June 18, Monday, Dion and I headed down to Chang Yong Seng Hardware & Tools Enterprise around 2pm to discuss with Mr Chng, the boss, to seek permission for creating a website for him. We wanted to create a website for him so as to provide basic information to both potential and current customers.

This would come in handy for current customers should they lose information like the Contact Number and the Opening hours of the shop.

Furthermore, Mr Chong said today that potential customers nowadays usually check online for an official business website, and that if they do not find them, they would not find the business genuine.

Last but not least, we created the website so that the business has an online presence. As a result, there may be a larger influx of new customers who may find the website on a search engine.

Mr and Mrs Chng were very keen to have us create a website for them. When we asked them what they wanted to be included in the website and objectives of the site, they told us it was up to us. Mrs Chng said that she wanted to give us more flexibility and that she trusted us.

We then proceeded to take down basic information for the website and left around 3.30pm. Not wanting to disturb the boss further, we headed to somewhere else to discuss. We were quite ambitious then and wanted to create a Products page to list every product down. However, after much discussion, we decided not to as it was not viable due to time constraint. Also, before we left, Mrs Chng had told us not to as she felt that it was virtually impossible due to the large number of products.

Discussion on Action Plan!

During the holidays, we met up on June 12, Tuesday to discuss on how to further elaborate our Action Plan. We were told to do so as our Action Plan was not detailed enough. We met at 10 and began discussing on various strategies. After much deliberation, we decided to undertake a few strategies we all agreed on. We rejected some because they were not viable. At around 12, we wrapped up our discussion and split the workload.

Side story:The team "Great Asia" is formed on 18/5/2012 with China(Xiao Chen), India(Santhosh) and Singapore(Evan, Dion, Wee Ping) forming a year treaty for this year's "Social Media Marketing" project. Cheers, as peace is assured for a year!!! My comrade rejoice!!!

Main story: After hours of blood,sweat and tears, the ideation list and report is done. Moving on, the long, gruelling yet enriching journey is about to begin. The slides are currently being engraved by the hands of god.

Chang Yong Seng - Email Approval

Today, our team got together to discuss and decide on which company to choose for our Social Media Marketing project. After much deliberation, we decided to choose my father's company over Dion's butcher shop and Evan's dental surgery company. We did not choose Dion's butcher shop because the target audience would be aunties and uncles that probably would not be using social media platforms at all.

We were keen to choose Evan's dental surgery due to it being prestigious but decided not to in the end because the dental surgery company has already kickstarted it's own Social Media Campaign. This would mean that we would have little to add on or do, which would prevent us from learning how to launch a full-fledged campaign independently.

After I got home, I requested for an email of approval to use my father's hardware retail company. The following picture shows his reply.
